five states of freedom #10

five states of freedom [number 10] – 1.37 mins, 2016
Shot at an abandoned Tungsten Mill in Tucson, AZ that once processed tungsten for the World War II effort. The Tungsten processed at this mill was used as an alloy to harden other metals such as steel for armor and artillery shells. Origins of the mill are unknown and its operations are presumed classified by the military since no documentation about when the mill was in operation or the amount of ore it processed are known. Since 2007, the site has been awaiting environmental clean up to remove the toxic metals (including arsenic, cadmium and lead) that remain on site.
